CTV Interview: What business are you really in?

10 years ago, Fuji realized its future in the photography business was bleak.  Rather than tinker around the edges, it decided to fundamentally redefine what business it is in, leveraging its historical core skill set to make a smooth transformation into biotech and biopharmaceuticals.

Does this seem like an incongruous shift to you?  Watch Ian Chamandy’s weekly interview with CTV News to discover why this makes so much sense and why most businesses should be considering the same type of transition.

In our book, “Why Should I Choose You?” (answering the single most important question in business in 7 words or less), we describe in detail how the traditional way of defining what business you are in creates blinders that inhibit your ability to see future revenue streams that will lead you on a path to a high growth future.  The book is about how to redefine what business you are in – in 7 words or less – so that, like Fuji, you have complete clarity about who you are as an organization, where you are going and how you will get there.
